Day by Day
Everything on this page is subject to change without notice as new information comes in!
Hotels listed are planned in as of right now, but might change depending on availability, exorbitant price changes and rating. We will make sure that the hotels included will be clean and have en suite bathrooms.
Everything than the Hotels was experienced by us before & thought of being amazing, worthwhile or just fun.
I am still looking into things as some changed or are not available, when we are there!
As Renate from Anchorville Travel will know what needs to be done, she will be our Travel Professional, doing the necessary bookings for us, besides what I will arrange myself.

Berlin – after Breakfast at about 10.00AM our comfortable Tour-bus will arrive to drive us to Berlin. As it is before check in time, I will arrange, that we can drop off our luggage at the hotel early. Our hotel is right next door to the flagship Department store KaDeWe and in front of it is the stop for the Hop on Hop off Bus (good way to get around Berlin and see the sights. We might even suggest the evening tour (took them in other cities – Rome, Washington DC and enjoyed them very much). |
★★★★Mercure Hotel Berlin Wittenbergplatz or other hotel nearby. |

Dresden – we should arrive here at Noon. noteworthy are the oldest Christmas Market the Striezelmarkt and the medieval one in the courtyard of the Residence. A visit to the Green Vault needs tickets purchased beforehand. Our bus will pick us up in the late afternoon, for a night in a castle hotel near Seiffen |

Seiffen –is our morning stop on our way to Prague. Browse the wood working shops, remember the quality carvings you can buy at some of the other Markets are made here. We will arrive in Prague, Czechia towards the evening, but there should be still time to hit the town. I will have a couple of restaurant suggestions for a reasonable price meal. |

Prague – I will try to get Klara, the guide we used last time. She took us with the streetcar to the top of the city to give us a great tour downhill from there, ending at the Old Town Square. In the late afternoon we will board the bus to take us for a 6 night stay in the Town I grew up in. (Bus Driver goes home for the nights.) |
Gasthof Turm Schönwald Site is German only |

A photo stop in Mödlareuth, a grim reminder of the cold war and onto the ornate pilgrimage church of Vierzehn Heiligen, out in the middle of nowhere, there is the church, a monastery, a cemetery and you might have guessed it, a Brewery, a good place for a “Brotzeit“, before we hit Bamberg. The picturesque old town concentrates during Advent on Nativity displays and also has 2 Nativity Museums (Last time we were there). | Schönwald | B,L |
| Thu – Dec 3 |
7 |
Nuremberg – another gem of the old Bavaria, with the busiest Christmas Market and a lot of other sights. IMHO Just Great. Make sure to try the famous Nürnberger Bratwürst. As the city has sister cities all over the world, there is also an international Market Place and another one to see is the Square specially for Kids. | Schönwald | B |
| Fri – Dec 4 |
8 |
Schloss Guteneck – invites us to a romantic Market in and around a Castle, but we will have lunch in one of my favorite restaurants in Czechia on the way there. | Schönwald | B,L |
| Sat – Dec 5 |
9 |
Rothenburg ob der Tauber, noteable, the year round Christmas Store of We planned a stop near by for a Schnitzel Dinner before we hit back. | Schönwald | B,D |
| Sun – Dec 6 |

Regensburg – Schloss Thurn und Taxis the last market we feature on our list.Located on the Danube, there is a lot more to explore there including the historic Wurstkuchl (in business for over 500 years). They actually have plaques in the wall around there marking how high the water was, when the Danube flooded! | Schönwald | B |
| Mon – Dec 7 |
11 |
Pilsen – why not look around, try their beer and have lunch at a very famous brewery. On to Český Krumlow, a town that time forgot |
Český Krumlov | B,L |
| Tue – Dec 8 |

Berchtesgaden – Altötting – we will first journey into the underworld of the Salt Mines, a fun & memorable trip, but please, let me know if you are claustrophobic and I will talk to you and let you know the details of this “adventure”. Afterwards we will take a boat ride on the Alpine Königssee to St. Bartholomä. As the preferred restaurants is closed today, I am still looking for an equivalent one for Lunch or Dinner (will decide later, when I have the final Time schedule worked out for this day) The hotel I picked is in the center of Altötting and close to the Gnadenkapelle, the link will give you an idea, but what impressed me most was walking around the outside of it. I will gladly translate to you the writing, if I can read it! If we arrive too late, we plan in time for this in the morning. (This will be the last meal with our regular driver) |

Gars am Inn – Munich On the way to Munich, a member of my family took us to a Barn on a Farm, where one man built, carved, painted and collected an, again IMHO, amazing nativity display. After dropping us off at the hotel in Munich, the bus will leave us to go home. We should still have some time to explore the Marienplatz, the surrounding areas or have a Bier at the world famous Hofbräuhaus München. |
Munich | B |
| Thu – Dec 10 |
14 |
Wieskirche – Oberammergau- for todays day trip, I will hire a bus from a local company, (saving hotel & bus parking cost), we will have a drive by and Photo stop to see Neuschwanstein, a tour of the castle is IMHO not worth it for the time wasted, Ludwig never occupied the premises. I would rather show you the Wieskirche (short visit) and on to Oberammergau. I am still “consulting” with my “local” niece, about the Monastery restaurant of Kloster Ettal or another location, she recommends. | Munich | B,D |
| Fri – Dec 11 |
14 |
Munich – explore the “Weltstadt mit Herz” – the Metropolitan city with a Heart. Besides the inner City (Marienplatz), I will be found at the Gourmet shops of the Viktualienmarkt nearby and at the a fore mentioned Hofbräuhaus for a pair of original Munich Weißwurst. Munich also has a HoHo Bus! |

| Sat – Dec 12 |

Transfer to Airport – Flight Home The Lufthansa bus from the train station will be the cheapest, Uber (professional drivers in Germany) the most convenient, I will post the prices in the future as we get closer to the trip. |

| Sun – Dec 13 | Extension if you want to, as long you want to, should be mentioned to Renate and will just add the hotel price and also your personal expenditures for food | |||
